The Symphony of Light community prides itself on having a relaxed set of rules. We understand that you have a choice of how you spend your free time, and that time should be enjoyable, not bogged down with rules. A little common sense, respect, and treating others as you would want to be treated, will generally make your own, as well as everyone else’s membership to the SoL community an enjoyable one. That being said, here are a few guidelines we ask that you follow as a member of our community: (Community Rules) • Please respect your fellow members. Do not attack any member, either verbally or written, in game, in TeamSpeak, or on the forums. We understand that some people are very passionate in their views and opinions, and sometimes debates and discussions can become heated arguments. We ask that you keep comments, criticism, opinions, etc at a respectable level in our community areas. If you feel the need to “take it up a notch”, please do so in PM’s on the forums, or a private channel in TeamSpeak. • Freedom of speech. We encourage you to speak your mind, and make our best efforts to allow you to do this in an environment that won’t degrade into name calling and flaming. Feel free to discuss any topic at any time. Do you have an idea how to make the community better, even though it might be the complete opposite of the way we do something now? Let us know! Think dogs are better than cats? Let’s discuss it! We simply ask that you follow the guidelines in the above code of conduct. • Issues and Complaints. If you have an issue or a complaint, please give the community leaders a chance to help you resolve it. This means, not heading straight to the forums and posting a rant about it, or bringing it to the public in an effort to win favor for your position. • Forum areas and thread topics. Please try to be mindful of staying on topic, and matching new posts to the appropriate area. In addition to the above community guidelines, there are a few more guidelines we ask that all in game guild members follow as well. Specific games may have additional guidelines specific to a game, but these should be a generalization that apply to any given game. (In Game Guild General Rules) • Cheating, Hacking, Exploiting. We do not condone any of these. If you happen to find an exploit, etc, please bring it to the attention of the GM or an officer so that it may be reported to the proper channels. • Board Warrioring. Please keep the public board warrior activity to a minimum. Granted, there may be times another guild will post something about an SoL game guild. Please feel free to defend your honor, and the honor of our community, but we ask that you do so in a mature fashion. VNBoards, specific game boards, etc, are a cesspool of trolls and flamers, but the public still likes to read them, and poor behavior there, reflects poorly on the community as a whole. • Griefing. If someone in game does something to annoy you, please do not follow them around kill stealing, spamming them with /tells, etc. Say your piece, and throw them on /ignore and move on. As you can see, there aren’t many rules around here, be it as a community or in game. If you’ve read the above and said to yourself, “those aren’t rules, that’s common sense”, then you’re the type of person we want to spend our free time with. Feel free to join us anytime!
